Ever wonder if nursing is the career field for you or do you want to learn about what nurses do? If yes, this hands-on workshop is for you! Youth will learn about the topics listed below and more!

This workshop is taking place in the Marion Technical College's nursing labs which are set-up to simulate real hospital rooms. They have all the tools neccesary to give the youth a close to realistic experience. 

Youth will be working with an instructor in very small groups in order to optimize an environment for learning and interaction. Two session times are available. Both sessions have the same content so youth should only register for one time. 

Who - Youth in grades 5-12 (limited to 15 youth per class time)
When - August 16, 2021, 9:00 a.m. - noon or 1:30-4:30 p.m. (each session time has the same content)
Registration due - August 6, 2021
Cost - $15 Morrow and Marion County Residents, $30 Non-Morrow and Marion County Residents
Where - Marion Technical College, Health Technologies Center, 1467 Mt. Vernon Ave, Marion, OH 43302

Some of the topics to be covered:

  • CPR and first aid
  • Changing dressings
  • Injections, sutures, and staples
  • Heart and lung sounds
  • Using an Anatomage

At the conclusion of each session, parents and youth will have the opportunity to tour the facility and learn about Marion Tech and the nursing program.

Construction Trades and Automotive Technology - Coming spring 2022

Take the guess work out of whether you want to work in a construction trade or automotive technology trade career! Youth spend the day doing skills used in these trade fields to see if they like them. During this hands-on workshop, youth will complete some of the tasks listed below (activities are subject to change).
