Food Protection Manager Certification

The ServSafe Food Safety Training program leads the way in providing current and comprehensive educational materials to the restaurant industry. More than 4 million foodservice professionals have been certified through the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Exam, which is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Conference for Food Protection (CFP). ServSafe training and certification is recognized by more federal, state, and local jurisdictions than any other food safety certification.

The ServSafe Manager Certification verifies that a manager or person-in-charge has sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness. Individuals that successfully pass the 90-question, multiple-choice exam will receive a ServSafe Manager Certification and wallet card. The ServSafe Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the Conference for Food Protection Standards.


Food Protection Manager Certification Training

The Manager Training program provides food service managers, operators, and owners with accurate, up to date information on all aspects of handling food, from receiving and storing to
preparing and serving. The principles learned in this course can easily be applied and practiced by all food service workers.

Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants receive a Certificate of Completion from ServSafe and an Ohio Department of Health Food Protection certificate.

  • $125 Morrow County business/organization (offset by levy funds)

Ohio Testing Centers for Proctored Computer Based Exam

  • https://home.pearsonvue.com/: Pearson-Vue offers the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification Exam is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.  It is also ANSI-CFP accredited.  They have many testing sites (and a “Find a test center link”). 
  • https://www.prometric.com/: Prometric offers the Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM) Exam and SafeMark® Certified Food Protection Manager (SFMK) Exam (both ANSI-CFP accredited exams).  They have fewer testing centers.

  • You are not considered registered until the exam fee is paid; in order to save spot for exam or your registration will be voided
  • Registration exam fee is nonrefundable, but may be transferred to another available option; if you have registered and will not be able to attend please call 419-947-1070 to be removed from the registration
